In memory of Anne Benraiss, PhD

We are deeply saddened by the sudden death of Dr Anne Benraiss, who served as a lab technician in our lab 2020-2022. Anne died in France whilst on a trip to visit her family. Anne was universally beloved by our lab and her unexpected passing is devastating. Anne became our colleague following a long career break to serve as a full-time stay-at-home parent. Anne was tenacious and vibrant colleague. She was an immensely talented teacher and was a popular mentor for several junior lab members in molecular biology. We will all miss her enthusiasm, stories and insight. We loved working alongside Anne and we will always miss her. Anne is survived by her husband Prof. Abdellatif Benraiss from the Department of Neurology at the University of Rochester Medical Centre and their two daughters. We send our deepest condolences to her family.
