July 2024: Lab Members volunteer for STEM Cubs Event
Hope, Elijah, Alikhan and Will (pictured left to right) all volunteered for a STEM Cubs Event this month. “We were all volunteers helping the instructors guide scientific lessons.” reports Hope, “The two experiments we did were balloon car racing and then a hydroponic lesson with green onions. We helped clean up, hand out material, answer questions, and sat with the kids throughout the experiments.” STEM Cubs is a free S.T.E.M. education program hosted by the Office of Academic Access and Leadership Development, College of Education & Human Development and College of Engineering at the University of Missouri.
Emphasizing the importance of exposing all students to exploratory and experiential learning, STEM Cubs seeks to engage elementary students, particularly those historically underrepresented in STEM education and career fields, to hands-on STEM activities
It’s Awesome to see our lab represented with thiscommunity education program!
