May 2024: Congratulations to our graduating senior undergradute researchers!
Many congratulations to our capstone undergraduate research students who graduated with Departmental Honors! Ashley Clark and Audrey Garoutte completed 2 semesters of research with our lab. Ashley will join the lab of Darla Tharp at the Next Gen Precision Health as a Research Specialist. Audrey is continuing her research with us for the summer and will go on to teach English in Spain for a year before entering medical school.
Tara said: “It was a pleasure having Ashley join our lab this year, who worked with enthusiasm and dedication on a really challenging project! We will really miss her but are thrilled that Ashley will continue her science career down the road at the Next Gen Building as Research Technician! Good Luck and thanks for all your hard work!
Dan said: “It has been a pleasure and a privilege having Audrey in the lab! She joined us last summer, working initially on a small project that earned her co-authorship on a recently published research article. She switched to a different question for her independent capstone project, and her perseverance, creativity, and courage in tackling that problem culminated in a stellar oral presentation at the Show Me Research Week this past April. Audrey is a talented and dedicated researcher and we are delighted that she's chosen to continue working with us this summer!”
Extra congratulations to Audrey Garoutte, who received an Outstanding Senior Scholar Award in Biological Sciences! Read all about Audrey’s award here.
